A B3 organization is often a collection of sites but may contain just one site. Organizations are created by B3 administrators. Organizations do have the option to be setup with parent-child organizations to further define relationships e.g. parent organization: Agency / child organizations: Division. Organization level metrics are based on a roll-up of completed sites within the organization. The Organization Editor allows properties to be set at the composite organization level.
General
If the organization contains multiple sites, the organization’s address will be the first site’s address for geolocating. Both the organization name and address can be customized if necessary. If organization utilizes parent-child organizations, child organizations can be moved under a different parent Organization.
Additional optional fields are available on the General tab. Some programs have public reports that allow anyone to view high level B3 data. Organizations can choose how they participate, whether that’s public (included and identified), anonymous (included but listed as anonymous), or hidden (completely excluded). Note, options set at the site level override options set at the organization level. **need to test** The referenced code year is what B3 utilizes to build the B3 Benchmark engineering model. This code year is set at the program level.
Attributes (if applicable)
Some B3 programs have defined custom attributes allowing organizations and sites to be associated with such things as programs, regions, departments, and divisions. Note, some attributes are only editable by administrators. Contact Us with suggestions for other custom attributes.
Defaults
Define organization defaults for additional columns that are included in meter types. These columns will be pre-selected when adding new meters of respective types. They can be unselected if necessary.
Events
Add organization-level events here. Toggle the Show Inherited Events button for list of events created at all levels - parent-org, child-org, site, and building.
Notes
Enter any relevant notes about the organization in the Public Notes field. These notes will be visible in the public reports for the general public.
