Navigation Tree Overview
The navigation tree serves as an important tool for both traversing and visualizing the hierarchical nature of data in B3. A building in a multi-building site serves as the lowest level in the tree, up to a site, a child organization, a parent organization, sector or client if applicable, up to All Organizations.
All of the raw data, metrics, visualizations and reporting tools are available at all levels of the tree.
Nodes can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the triangle before the node text or double-clicking the node text.
The tree can be altogether collapsed or expanded by clicking the arrow button in the middle right section of the tree.
Search
A full or partial expression can be entered in the search box. Items can be searched by name or by ID. The tree will be trimmed down to only those nodes that match. The tree search will only return results for items represented in the tree.
Drag/Drop
The navigation tree also supports drag/drop capabilities. The gear icon in the top right corner is how the user can engage drag/drop mode button. This operation allows you to drag a site from one organization into another organization. To disengage, the user can click the stop button in the top right corner of the navigation tree.
Grouping
By Default, the navigation tree displays nodes in organizational hierarchical order. However, the tree can be grouped in a variety of other ways. Click the gear icon and expand the combo box to view other grouping options. The Group by Building Type option changes the hierarchical order, so that building type is the primary grouping, allowing you to report on all sites associated to that building type.
Tree groupings also support custom attributes, allowing you to report on attributes specific to your organization.
