Overview
The meter reading import wizard enables the user to enter usage and cost data offline into a Microsoft Excel workbook, and then upload it back to B3 for processing.
Instructions
Start by generating a workbook template. The workbook will be prepopulated with your existing readings. Every meter in the selection will be exported in its own worksheet within the template. That is because each meter can have different units and column options.
Once the Excel workbook is generated, open it in Microsoft Excel. There's availability to edit existing usage and cost entries and add new rows. Meter readings cannot be deleted in this tool. Meter readings must be deleted in the native Meter Editor.
When adding new rows, dates must be continuous. New meter reading's start date should be the same as the prior reading's end date.
When finished, the workbook can be saved to an internal hard drive and uploaded into the Meter Reading Import Wizard. The validation routine will indicate how many modified and new readings are identified - and any problems in the data, such as alpha characters in numeric fields or malformed dates.
Once complete, a summary screen will summarize the operations completed.
